"Young" Hollywood

Stardoll released a single window of Young Hollywood in honor of the outfits worn by Blake Lively and Madonna at the Met Ball. There is something a bit unsettling about having Madonna in Young Hollywood. The name is Young Hollywood, not Old, Trashy, and Expired Hollywood. The outfit in itself was pretty terrible. Madonna definitively went overboard on the punk theme.

Stardoll's replica of Blake Lively's gown was too far from the original to score any points. One of my favorite things about the gown was the neutral colors, and stardoll name a huge mistake throwing in the blue.

Overall, this window was failure. There is really nothing else to say.

Ombre!

In case you have been living under a rock, ombre is one of the latest Hollywood trends. As seen in the hair of stars like Rachel Bilson and Drew Barrymore, ombre is the graduation from dark to light (or vise versa). This color change can be seen in nails, clothing, hair, and even cupcakes!

A little while back, stardoll released a few ombre hairstyles in Tress Up.

Since the release of ombre in Tress Up, numerous members have designed ombre wigs in stardesign hair. The ombre trend has reached the hairs of stardoll members everywhere.

So, do you like the ombre trend? Do you think it will last? Have you purchased an ombre hairstyle? Email me your opinions.

Favorites (Spring 2013)

It's April and officially spring! Personally, Spring is my favorite time of the year for fashion. It isn't winter, you don't have to hide your beautiful clothing under puffy coats. It isn't summer, you don't have to worry about wearing clothes that will not make you hot. No, spring is a comfortable medium that allows fashion freedom. Besides, who doesn't love the cheery pastels and flowers of spring clothing?

Review: Limited Edition (April 2013)

Stardoll has released the latest season of Limited Edition.

The theme was apparently supposed to be grungy or something along those lines. Personally, I consider grunge just another term for paying a lot of money to look like you live in the ghetto, but that is a rant for another day. The main problem with this collection is that there was no distinct color or style. It appears that Stardoll seemed to go with a gold and black studded theme and them just threw in some random leftover pieces from stores like Velvet Orchard or Miss Sixty.

Note how the items in A and B have nothing in common. A collection should always have some type of unifying factor that binds every piece of clothing together. This unifying factor was seen in the earlier seasons  of LE. Without seeming too nostalgic, I think this is what made the first through third seasons of Limited Edition so special.

The graphics weren't the best, but they weren't nearly as bad as last time. The prices were very good, but I honestly would have preferred a more expensive collection if it meant that the clothing was better.

Stardoll, better luck next time. I'm getting tired of writing negative reviews for everything.

Great Suites/Outfits: Kamuz

My dear friend Kamuz combined the new Hot Buys Weekly and Limited Edition to create a lovely and classy mint/gold combo.

My Outfit: Beautiful Barbie and Ken

I am wearing Comfort Grey Shirt (It Girls), Girl vs. Monster Pants (Free Item), Leather Amazon Knee Boots (Pet A. Porter), and Antionette Royalty Pearl Necklace (Royalty) with my buddy Ken!

Trends Classics: Pea-coats

Recently I have seen A LOT of pea-coats on fashion blogs, shows, celebrities, and the runway. And by "A LOT" I mean more than usual.

Because pea-coats aren't a trend... they are a classic!

Anyways... I noticed them popping up more than usual and I thought I would search out my favorite pea-coats on stardoll.

The Melton Coat is simple, classic, and stylish. Perfect for every outfit and occasion!

The Double Breasted Coat has a quiet and reserved look that would go great with accessories.

The Merry Coat is just that! Merry! It reminds me of candy and laughing children. Very original and different look.

The Penny Ice Coat gives off a very beautiful red look that reminds me of a cold nose on a snowy day.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Gothish)

Stardoll has officially released the second edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features a top, skirt, knee high socks, and shoes.

The top and skirt are pretty adorable but the graphics and pricing are a bit iffy.

The bow isn't my idea of style but the price is pretty awesome.

The socks are one of the cutest things I have seen but the shoes fit oddly and are not at all attractive.

Circus Performer Makeup

Okay... circus performer is not the look you try to achieve when going out each morning... but I thought this was so adorable it had to be shared.

Real Looks on Stardoll: Hunger Games - Katniss Everdeen

Real Looks on Stardoll is a segment where we take a celebrity or icon's outfit and recreate it on Stardoll.

Today we will be recreating the looks of Katniss Everdeen from the first book in the Hunger Games Trilogy.

There are a few key outfits that Katniss wears in the book/movie.

The reaping dress is a soft blue dress from her mother. It appears like this in the movie.

You can recreate this look by using the Chambray Nantucket Dress from Decades.
The Tribute Parade (girl on fire) costume consists of a black bodysuit and flames (which can be recreated through suite items and all black.) The Interview Dress is considered full of gems with flickering colors in the book and is made red and flaming in the movie.

Fan Interpretation of Tribute Parade costume (barnsdallel)

Movie Version of Interview Dress

Movie Version of Tribute Parade costume
You can recreate both of these looks by using the Mendes Long Dress from Fallen Angel.

And of course you should always wear a braid:)

Great Outfits/Suites

Stardoll has some amazing and creative members that create awesome outfits and suites.

glam.diamond - I just love this sophisticated black outfit with a touch of fur.

Toxic_Candy_ - Her outfit is very different and trendy with an awesome suite to match.

MissFey - Silver and more silver.

Favorite Archive Items

A new archive collection has been released with several adorable items. (I just realized they are all blue:)

Anditode Makes Me Cry?

So... I logged on to Stardoll about two hours after Antidote was released... and all of my favorite items were the only things sold out.

I guess a lot of Stardoll members have amazing taste:)

Anyways 50% more stardollars for superstars...  so you can pick some up and purchase the collection.

Sigh... Stardoll...

I have written to Stardoll about incidents and they say they are having their "servers" (or something along those lines) looking at it.

Its been a while.

Since then I created this awesome outfit.
Do you love it?

Stardoll Inspirations: Jane By Design to Freebie?

Recently I have noticed this dress from Jane By Design intro looks a lot like a certain freebie dress from a while back. I assume whoever designed the dress is the inspiration for the freebie and not the television show.

My Outfit: Cute AND Free

I see many non superstars and low level members wearing rather unattractive and overdone cheap or free outfits. I understand that you do not have money but that does not mean you can't be stylish.

What did it cost? The shirt and shoes were freebies and the pants were 50sc (but you can switch it out with the pants you get when you join Stardoll.)

My Thought on the Pleathers

The black pleather platforms were origianally sold for 2sd in Bizou and then released in the archive for 6sd.

Today they are worth over 600sd and people go rabid for a pair.

Why?

They are not limited. They are like any other pair of shoes. There is no difference between them and  anything else.

They were only available for a little while before being released in the archive, which to be honest is not so uncommon.

To me they are not worth the amount of money they go for... which may have to do with my opinion on Jeffrey Campbell.

Real Looks on Stardoll: Kaley Cuoco at People's Choice Awards

Real Looks on Stardoll is a segment where we take a celebrity or icon's outfit and recreate it on Stardoll.

Today we will be recreating Kayley Cuoco's outfit from the 2013 People's Choice Awards.

Kaley wears a lacy pale pink dress with complimenting gold heels.

For the Stardoll look I paired the Nude Ballet Dress from Viole with Metal Ankle Heels to recreate this amazing look.
