Review: Hot Buys Weekly

Stardoll released the latest edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features a dress, two tops, and two skirts.

I was extremely happy to see actual clothing as part of the Hot Buys Weekly. The graphics were alright (could have been better.) I wasn't a big fan of the Scandinavian/Eastern Europe looking blue top and skirt, but I really liked the white shirt and blue skirt. They are gorgeous!

Review: Hot Buys Weekly

Stardoll released the latest edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features sunglasses, shoes, and two handbags.

For the second week in a row stardoll used the pvc look. According to an article in the starblog, "brighting up an outfit with pvc and metallic accessories has never been so cool."  I am not sure about the popularity of pvc, but I know that it looks a bit cheap. I was pretty excited that the items finally followed a theme, and the graphics weren't too shabby. The clear handbag with the sunglasses and cellphone in it is cute, but it reminds me of a pencil case. Overall, this collection is pretty good in comparison to the others.- Delia346

Review: Hot Buys Weekly

Stardoll released the latest edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features two purses, a hat, dress, and shoes.

I would really like to know who chooses to put these items together. Even a color blind person should know that bright pink chain purses, blue swimsuit/dress combos, and brown and black "pvc" shoes/hat do not go together. Maybe they were trying to imitate a tacky tourist?

The items themselves weren't exactly stellar, I only liked the shoes. The blue swimsuit/dress thing gives off a housewife in the Midwest vibe, the bags are to barbie for my taste, and the hat is very confusing.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Friends?)

Stardoll released the eleventh edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features a top, shorts, dress and two pairs of heels.

I did not like this edition (this is starting to become a recurring trend.) The overall theme was pretty bland and did not make any sense. I did like the advertisement. I thought the two friends looked pretty cute, but I have no clue what is going on between the redhead's knees. The items themselves weren't that horrible, but they looked like rejects from some of the recent collections.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Coachella)

Stardoll has released the eleventh edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features a dress, purse, and guitar.

This edition was quite obviously inspired by Coachella (a music and arts festival.) When you view this flyer the outfit isn't too bad, but the actual items are a lot different than the advertisement. The graphics on the dress weren't as detailed and the strap wasn't off of the shoulder. I wasn't a big fan of the guitar, because it looked very juvenile. The shoes were alright, I guess. The bag wasn't very detailed, but it wasn't particularly horrible. Overall, this collection was alright.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Kimono)

Stardoll has released the tenth edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features a top, skirt, purse, sunglasses, and shoes.

When the spoilers came out I was horrified at the socks/flip flop heels combo. While I have seen some designers make this look fantastic, the stardoll version comes off looking like some tacky tourist. The top wasn't too horrible, but I am not a big fan of that star (or is it a flower) thing. My favorite item in the collection had to be the rather versatile black and white purse. Finally, a luxurious item that will go with any outfit.

Great Suites/Outfits: Kamuz

My dear friend Kamuz combined the new Hot Buys Weekly and Limited Edition to create a lovely and classy mint/gold combo.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Retro)

Stardoll has released the ninth edition of Hot Buys weekly. This edition features a jumpsuit, a purse, shoes, and belt.

I, like many members of stardoll, found this edition to be absolutely horrid. The 'retro' inspired theme is combined with a shade of supposed 'mint' that reminds me of a hospital. The neon green (which is a color that should never be seen in stardoll) have the same style as Special Edition items you receive when signing up for a superstar membership, and the jumpsuit makes me imagine what a sweatsuit tutu would look like.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Yellow and Pink)

Stardoll released the eighth edition of Hot Buys Weekly today. This edition features a handbag, cell phone and earphones, makeup, and glasses in a yellow and pink theme.

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this edition. The yellow/pink/studs combination was aesthetically pleasing and the prices were reasonable. I would have preferred for their to be more clothing items and less makeup. Other than that, I didn't really have any complaints.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Chanel Resort)

Stardoll has released the seventh edition of Hot Buys Weekly. The collection includes a soft summery dress, chained gold purse, classic floppy sun hat, and pink and white striped boots.

From the information given above, one could conclude that the pieces would never go together. That conclusion would be false.

According to a post in the Star Blog the seventh edition is inspired by Chanel Resort 2013. Chanel Resort 2013 features bobs, spring dresses, sporty shoes, and floppy sun hats.

While I believe that Chanel pulled this look off better, Stardoll did a pretty good job at putting together a lovely outfit.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Trains)

Stardoll released the fifth edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features three pieces of luggage, a scarf, and shoes.

It seems like stardoll has decided to not assign a theme to the weekly hot buys.Yet again they changed the entire premise by creating a group of accessories instead of a complete outfit.

There was noting particularly special about these bags. The graphics were moderate and the bags were acceptable. I only had one problem with these items, they are luggage. Luggage! Wait, didn't we just get the luggage/train thing from the Film Theory collection? Hmm... maybe these are just the reject items?

Anyways, I hope that next week we will get something lovely, sophisticated, and stylish.

*fingers crossed*

Review: Hotbuys Weekly (80s?)

Stardoll released the fourth edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition features a top, skirt, tights, purse, and shoes.

Once again the items do not seem to have a theme. The items by themselves were alright. I am not a big fan of the blue and pink purse. The color combination combines with the strap and shading makes it look very cheap. I had similar feelings for the shoes, which were just plain ugly. On the positive side, I thought the shirt was adorable. So many people on stardoll have been using that skirt in their outfits this week.

Review: Hot Buys Weekly (Hearts)

Stardoll has officially released the first edition of Hot Buys Weekly. This edition is quite obviously themed around Valentine's day, and every single item is pink and features  love/hearts.

This heart  clutch is a tad big for my taste and looks awkward on the doll.

These eyes are adorable but the price is a bit expensive.

These LOVE earrings are the cutest things in the world and are great for Valentine's day or any day.

The giant heart shaped hole and awkward fit makes this item a bust.

I did not review the nail coverings due to the fact stardoll has only released them for one hand.
